From humble beginnings to becoming one of New England’s largest dental practices, Stillwater Dental Associates has been serving the Bangor community since 1975. Founded by Dr. Ronald W. Bailey, our practice started with just two treatment rooms and a small, dedicated team. Over the decades, we’ve grown to accommodate 10 comfortable treatment rooms, over 20 skilled team members, and a patient base of more than 4,000 active patients.

Dr. Ronald Bailey received his DMD degree from Tufts University, Boston in 1975 & is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), Maine Dental Association (MDA), and the Penobscot Valley Dental Society (PVDS). With over 40 years of serving Maine families, he specializes in Cosmetic Dentistry and has received advanced training in dental implants, Invisalign & Sure Smile clear aligners, Cerec crowns, and endodontics.
Born and raised in the Bangor, Maine area, Dr. Bailey is an avid fan of outdoor recreational activities and also enjoys traveling with his wife, Gayle, and spending time with their 5 grandchildren. Two of his adult sons, Ryan & Patrick, reside in Arizona, where they work in real estate, and his third son, Dr. Eron Aldridge, is a practicing oral surgeon in the Bangor area.
According to Dr. Bailey, the mission of Stillwater Dental Associates is to provide excellence in both dentistry and customer service in a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment.
Dr. Kirston S. Valley has been a member of our Stillwater Dental family since 2019. She attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University Of New England College Of Dental Medicine. Dr. Valley is a former board member of the Maine Dental Association. She maintains an active membership in the local branch of the Seattle Study Club, known as the Acadia Study Club, where she keeps up with current dental research. Dr. Valley is experienced in all areas of restorative dentistry, including fillings, crown and bridge, and dentures. She has a special interest in endodontics (root canal therapy) and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Valley strives to provide personalized care and is always open to her patient’s unique wants and needs for their treatment. With her commitment to dental excellence and her calming and gentle demeanor, Dr. Valley works hard to help patients of all ages feel comfortable in her care.
Having grown up in neighboring New Hampshire, Dr. Valley enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, and skiing. She also enjoys strength training, riding her Peloton bike, reading, and playing video games. Dr. Valley has a large dog named Bowen that accompanies her on her many walks and hikes. Bowen is a mix of a St Bernard and Standard Poodle, known as a St. Berdoodle.
When Dr. Valley isn’t at work she can almost always be found in the company of her family. Her husband Jake is a native of Brewer, Maine and a fellow dentist in the Bangor community. They recently welcomed their first baby in 2024, their daughter Dakota.
Dr. Valley is always looking for book recommendations and new places to hike; she would love to hear your favorites when you’re in for your appointment.
In January of 2022, Stillwater Dental welcomed Dr. Christopher Ford to our practice. Dr. Ford is a Maine Native from Presque Isle. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maine in Orono. He then went on to Boston where he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Ford has been practicing dentistry in Maine since 2017 and holds memberships with the American Dental Association, Maine Dental Association, and Penobscot Valley Dental Society. Dr. Ford provides treatment in all areas of restorative and cosmetic dentistry as well as extractions. His easy-going demeanor makes patients feel relaxed and confident in his care.
While in Boston, Dr. Ford met his wife, who is an elementary school special education teacher. They married in 2019 and have a beautiful daughter and an energetic son. During his leisure time, Dr. Ford and his family enjoy exploring Acadia National Park, hiking, and walks with their dog, Winston. Dr. Ford has been an avid Dallas Cowboys fan since childhood but enjoys watching all sports. He has an interest in music and has been playing guitar since a young age. As well as being a history buff, he likes to keep up on current events.
Dr. Ford is a caring and compassionate dentist who is a great listener. He enjoys collaborating with patients to meet their dental healthcare needs.
